Track handicapper Les Onaka pitched a perfect
game by selecting the winners of nine straight races as the
quest analyst on TVG on Friday night. The ninth and final
race was decided by the tightest of photos with Onaka's selection
- A Big Shot Of Brandy beating TST Mr Linster by an eyelash
to give the handicapper the perfect night.
"Where's the Gatorade?" Onaka wondered,
referring to the traditional bath NFL head coaches get after
winning the Super Bowl. "I didn't think I had won it."
In fact TVG host Dave Weaver had more faith
in Onaka's selection than the handicapper himself. Weaver
immediately acknowledged A Big Shot Of Brandy as the winner
despite the race being one of the tightest of the meet. Fans

Friday's program was also a perfect night
of favorites at Los Alamitos, as the "chalk" won
each of the night races. The winners were: Lucks Flying High
($3.40), Concorde CS ($5.00), Pure D Cool ($4.60), Vising
($2.80), Separate lanes ($4.80), KG Jim Dandy ($4.60), Ryans
Ridge ($5.20), Texas Classy ($3.40), and A Big Shot Of Brandy
($3.80).
Ironically, the winner of the last race on
Thursday was the 48-1 longshot Adrianna Signature, who returned
a meet's bet $100.60.
